Taking the top spot...

RIGHT guys and gals… Are we sitting comfortably? Because i’m about to let you in on thaaa best brunch spot in all of Glasgow (according to myself... and TripAdvisor….so it must be legit).

I’m sure we know a few places that do a mean eggs benny or smashed avo on toast. HOWEVER there’s something that makes this brunch spot stand out from the crowd by a country mile- and it’s as simple as variation.

Singl- End is located next to Glasgow School of Art and attracts a lot of young students with an abundance of style. However It’s not unusual to see a variation of young professionals, older married couples, groups of friends and families enjoying their porridge with seasonal fruits on a Saturday morning….even furry friends are most welcome!

Anyway, getting down to food. I’m never usually that adventurous when it comes to brunch but when I look around and see what people are eating here, I can’t not be. Singl-End caters to many different diets and also has an abundance of Gluten Free options. From the amazing baked eggs breakfast (which comes sizzling in a cute little saucepan) to mouth-watering open sandwiches filled with salmon, falafel and rarebit (super unusual) to very yummy cooked breakfasts (btw- these come as meaty, veggie and vegan!). They also have an amazing selection of home-made fruity & sweet breads to choose from (most of which are vegan) and an INSANE cake table (picture to follow). My personal favourite in this place is the open sandwich with hot smoked salmon, poached egg, creme fraiche and salsa verde - it’s genuinely so yum that my mouth is tingling as we speak. For people who like something plain and simple, they also do porridge and very healthy home baked granola - my mum’s favourite. For a sweet tooth, I would definitely recommend the homemade chocolate and hazelnut spread, caramelised banana and toasted pecans on banana and pecan bread - it is delightful. Oh, and their coffees are super good too! This place wins my heart.

I do have to dedicate a portion of this blog to the sweet stuff’ they have in here. If you think you know good cakes, you don't. This place slays with their amazing cakes/brownies/biscuits/loaves and everything else they have. The table itself is worthy of an instagram pic!

In terms of atmosphere, this place does super well. It’s basement floor but still manages to be vibrant and light. It’s warm and is busy from the minute it opens and smells grrrreat. An all round buzzing bohemian vibe.

To finish, for being in the centre of G-town and being super diverse in their food, I think the prices are worth it. It may not be the cheapest brunch you will ever have but it definitely is one of the best.

(Book before wednesday for the weekend ppl- it’s v popular!)
