Last but by no means least...
So girls and boys, this is my last blog post. *tears*.
I’ve gone a little off base with my theme of “off the beaten track” brunch places with this one but it had to be included (you’re welcome LT 😏 )
Ollie’s is in the southside of Glasgow. The word that comes to mind when thinking about it is charm. In terms of atmosphere alone, this place is probably my #1. I LOVE the way it has been done - it’s like you're having breakfast in a cute little french cafe with the baby blue colours contrasted with the white. It really is gorgeous.
It attracts a lot of different people from elderly ladies having a wee catch up, to ladies who lunch, to teens, like me, who want a bitta yummy brunch.
So, you know sometimes, you look at a menu and you have absolutely no idea what a dish even is?! Yup, I get it all the time. So many places are trying to be super fancy with their menu these days when sometimes all you want is scrambled eggs. Ollie’s have a simple yet very yummy menu. From an amazing hot smoked salmon & avocado bagel with lemon creme fraiche to the unusual but super tasty smoked bacon croissant with melted brie, this place really does know flavour. The poached egg crostini with whipped feta is one of my faves with my mum’s being the natural yoghurt with champagne soaked berries and granola (think we all know why that is her fave). There is a huge selection of rolls with fillings such as black pudding, lorne sausage, bacon and egg for when you just want a huge greasy roll to cure the hang or the simple scrambled eggs on toast that sometimes you just crave. Oh, and how can I forget...the poached eggs on toast with smoked chicken & grilled asparagus is first class.
The other thing noteworthy about this place is that you can ask for anything and they will make it for you- they never ever have a problem with this. My mum once asked for porridge with banana and though this wasn't on the menu, they made it for her and even ran across the street to get fresh bananas!! So, do not be afraid to ask for something or mix things up ‘cos they always accommodate and put you first.
A great little place with lovely food, interior & atmosphere.
And with that, I bid you adieu. It's come to the end of my blogging days *phew*. I hope you all enjoyed these little posts & try visit some of the places I've recommended.
Thanks for all the views you babes.
